PSG Defeat Angers To Go Top of Ligue 1

Tight Match Sees PSG Secure Late Win

Paris Saint-Germain secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Angers in Ligue 1 on Friday, moving them to the top of the table.

Despite dominating possession, PSG struggled to break down a resolute Angers defense in the first half. However, they eventually found the breakthrough in the 69th minute through Danilo Pereira's close-range finish.

Angers equalized in the 86th minute when Ismael Traore bundled the ball home from a free-kick. However, PSG grabbed the winner just two minutes later when Kylian Mbappe converted a penalty.

The result leaves PSG with 28 points from 12 games, one point ahead of second-placed Marseille. Angers remain in 14th place with 14 points.

PSG Boss Luis Enrique Speaks Out

"It was a difficult game," said PSG boss Luis Enrique after the match. "We had a lot of possession, but we found it difficult to create clear-cut chances. Credit to Angers, they defended very well.

"In the end, we managed to get the win, which is the most important thing. We're now top of the table, but there's still a long way to go in the season."
