Chad Daybell Convicted in Deaths of Ex-Wife and Children

Verdict Ends Two-Month Trial

Guilty of First-Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder

A jury has found Chad Daybell guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the 2019 deaths of his ex-wife Tammy Daybell, 7-year-old Joshua "JJ" Vallow, and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan.

The verdict concludes a nearly two-month trial that has captivated the nation. Daybell's defense attorneys had argued that he was not responsible for the deaths, blaming others in the complex case that involved multiple marriages, adopted children, and religious beliefs.

However, the prosecution presented evidence that Daybell had planned and executed the murders of his wife and her children to further his own religious beliefs and gain access to their life insurance policies.

The verdict marks a significant development in the investigation into the deaths of Daybell's family members. Daybell's former wife, Lori Vallow, is also facing charges in connection with the deaths but has pleaded not guilty.
